In the federal census of Chesterfield County in 1870, Ann S Flournoy is a 67 year of widow living with her oldest son, Seth. She is unableto read or write. Is she related to the other older woman in the household, 75 year old Mary W. Moore ("Domestic Servant," Illiterate)? When Ann Flournoy died of "Paralysis" at the age of 70 (which would give her a birth date of 1805-1806), the death was reported to the Powhatan County Clerk by Edward Rudd, identified as a friend. (He had married her sister.) His listed her parents as Staunton and --- Blankinship and said she was born in Chesterfield County. (From the notes of Laura, keyesperry@aol.com)

I have found a marriage record listed in FamilySearch.com indicated that D D Vaden married Micha sometime around 1834. I assume that Michawas a nickname for Mickey Austin Blankenship. I now wonder is Mickeymay have died during the birth of Mary Jane and D D remarried sometime after. Notice that the next child born for D D is Hannah in 1837.At this time I have not been able to confirm that Micha is a different person. I am operating on the assumption that Mickey and Micha is the same person. Charlie Vines | Blankenship Mickey (Micha) Austin

The following notes were copied from 'The Vines & Russell Family' by Martha N Camp & Wilma Thedford.
"Margaret Burns Vines died about 1879 according to the obituary of her husband in 1923. It said she was buried in the New Hope Cemetery (on the Patmos Road) where they were once members. Her grave is unmarked, unknown location. She has near her, most of her children in the same cemetery. There are a number of Burns families buried there, but not known if they are her family. Likely the Burns that are buried inthe New Hope Cemetery are her relatives. In the 1850 census of Carroll Co., Ga., there was the family of M. S. Burns and Wife Ann, also a daughter, Margarite born ca. 1843. Some of the same bunch of Burns migrated to Hempstead Co, Ark. by 1860. Not been able to locate this M.S. Burns in the 1860 census. But by 1880, Ann Burns, a widow was living next door to John Henry, also a widower with 5 children. So this is a strong lead that we can follow to prove Margaret Burns Vines linein the future." | Burns Margaret Lucy
